The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Gombe State for the 2027 General Election, Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna has urged residents of the state to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
A statement signed and made available to The Jewel Times by the media aide to Dr Jamil Ibrahim Sani Shawai, said “Gwamna made the call in Gombe following the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s announcement on the resumption of nationwide Continuous Voter Registration.
“I want to appeal to all my supporters and indeed the entire citizens of Gombe State to see this period as a critical one to exercise their democratic rights.
“Hence any eligible citizen who has attained 18 years and others who were unable to register during the earlier phases, should take advantage of this window to do the needful” Dr.Gwamna added.
According to Dr. Gwamna, the voting right of citizens to choose any candidates of their choice starts with getting their PVCs.
“If we want to partake in making Gombe and Nigeria greater, it starts from exercising our rights and voting is a major part of that right which we must not deny ourselves of,” he said.
Dr. Gwamna further appealed to community and grassroots stakeholders to push the campaign to get more young people that are eligible to register and collect their PVCs and “after that ensure that they vote too.”
He commended INEC, traditional and religious leaders and other stakeholders for boosting campaigns on the need for residents of the state to register and collect their PVCs while urging that the campaign be intensified in the nooks and crannies of the state.
