Bauchi State Ministry of Education has called on the community, religious leaders, parents, and guardians across the state to support the enrolment campaign aimed at producing future leaders.

The State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Muhammad Lawal Rimin-Zayam, made the call while briefing journalists during the flagg off of the Market Place Sensitization Campaign on the importance of education.

The campaign, which kicked off at Gadar Maiwa Market in Ningi Local Government Area, aimed to educate the public on the significance of both religious and western education.

Dr. Rimin-Zayam explained that the lack of enrolment of school age children in both public and private schools is the major challenge that is setting the state back, particularly in rural areas.

He noted that the present administration of Governor Bala Muhammad has embarked on renovation, construction, and teachers recruitment to provide a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning.

The Information and Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Malam Jalaluddeen Usman, who led the enrolment and back-to-school campaign team to Gadar Maiwa Motor Park, observed that the drivers, religious and community leaders are closer to the people, hence the need for them to contribute their wisdom in the enrolment campaign towards complimenting Governor Bala Abdulkadir’s determination at improving the lost glory of education standards in the state.

He called on the public to take ownership of schools infrastructure and other facilities to prevent vandalization, saying issues of education are responsibility of everyone.

In their sperate remarks. The Ward Head of Gadar Maiwa, Alhaji Safiyanu Ahmad Gada, and Shugaba Ali Noma, commended the ministry for organizing the sensitization campaign, describing it as timely and a welcome idea that will move the education sector to the next level.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Gadar Maiwa Motor Park, Mallam Adamu Muhammad, thanked the sensitization team for hosting the campaign in his constituency, expressing optimism that the initiative would yield positive results.

The enrolment campaign featured a drama presentation on the importance of education, performed by the Yanke-Yanke Drama Group.
