In a significant move to strengthen primary healthcare services, the Bauchi State Government has released 323 million Naira as part of its 2024 contribution to improve healthcare delivery.

This development was announced by the Deputy Governor Mohammed Auwal Jatau who doubles as Chairman of the Primary Healthcare Taskforce, during a meeting at the Government House.

The taskforce has pledged to provide high-level oversight to ensure effective utilization of the funds and quality service delivery. The meeting brought together stakeholders to discuss challenges facing primary healthcare services and strategize on modalities for oversight and accountability.

The Emir of Dass who is the Taskforce Co-Chair, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu Othman, emphasized the unwavering commitment of traditional institutions to supporting primary healthcare activities for improved service delivery.

Development partners at the meeting commended Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration for its significant investment in the healthcare sector, pledging their continued support and partnership to achieve the desired objectives.

The funding release marks a crucial step towards achieving universal healthcare coverage in Bauchi State, demonstrating the government’s commitments to improving the health and wellbeing of its citizens.
