Bauchi Gov Commends CBN For Donating 70 Trucks Of Fertilizer To Local Farmers

Bauchi State Government has pledged to support farmers and boost the agricultural sector in the state.

 

Governor Bala Mohammed made this known at the inauguration of a committee for the distribution of 70 trucks of assorted fertilizer, donated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, that took place at the Government House.

Governor Bala Mohammed, represented by his deputy Mohammad Auwal Jatau, commended the federal government’s effort, saying “This gesture will aid grassroots farmers in this year’s harvest”.

 

He also said Bauchi Government has ordered selling NPK fertilizer at cheaper price of ₦20,000 per bag to encourage local farmers to boost their harvest.

Governor Mohammed outlined the committee’s terms of reference, including selecting genuine farmers and ensuring fair distribution.

 

The committee is expected to submit its report to state government within three weeks.

 

In his vote of thanks, The Chairman of the Committee, Alh. Nuhu Ahmad Wabi who doubles as the Emir of Jama’are expressed gratitude to the state government for finding them worthy to serve in the committee.

 

The Emir promised to ensure justice and equity in the distribution exercise.
