The Bauchi State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sani Muhammad Dambam, has urged rural and urban community members to closely monitor public healthcare facilities to ensure effective service delivery at the grassroots.
Dr. Dambam made the call when he lead stakeholders in the health sector on a re-orientation and supervision tour of health facilities in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the State.
The Health Commissioner noted that the supervision aimed to monitor healthcare services and moving the sector to the new level.
He expressed dismay over some health workers’ nonchalant attitudes, warni g them to avoid misconduct on duty, stating that offenders would face disciplinary action.
Dr. Sani Dambam commended Governor Bala Mohammed for building and rehabilitating over 100 healthcare facilities across the 20 local government areas of the state.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman Alkaleri Local Government, Alhaji Garba Hassan Bajama, represented by his deputy, Alhaji Abbas Ibrahim, appealed to the state government to employ more health personnel to address manpower gaps in hospitals for effective service delivery.
In their sperate remarks, district heads of Pali and Yalwan Duguri, Alhaji Garba Muhammad Sambo and Alhaji Ibrahim Y.M Baba, appreciated the ministry’s efforts and assured their support for revamping the health care services.
The supervision team visited several healthcare facilities, including General Hospital Alkaleri and Primary Healthcare Center Alkaleri Town,Gwaram PHCC, Cottage Hospital Yelwan Duguri among others.
