…Task Security Chief to be Proactive in Crime Prevention
Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has task the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) Gombe State Command to redouble efforts towards tackling crime and criminality in the state.
Governor Yahaya stated this when he granted audience to the newly posted state commandant of NSCDC Idris Jibril at the Government House.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the governor noted that the deployment of Idris Jibril to Gombe State comes at time when perpetrators of crime change tactics in order to evade been hunted down by security agencies.
He however enjoined the newly posted commandant of the corps to be firm, decisive and proactive in identifying security threats and dealing with them squarely.
He assured Idris Jibril of the State Government’s continued support to security agencies in the state with a view to keeping the state safe.
Earlier speaking, the newly posted NSCDC commandant Idris Jibril explain that he was at the Government House to present himself to the government and people of the state and to seek for their understanding and cooperation towards the fight against crime and criminality.
He said the command under his leadership is ready to work with the state government and other sister security agencies towards identifying flash points and dealing with emerging security challenges within the state.
The newly posted commandant was accompanied during the visit by some senior officers and men of the command.
