In a strategic move to cement grassroots support and broad acceptability for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Gombe State, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, the Sardauna Support Group (SSG) has officially inaugurated its state, zonal, and local government coordinators.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony in Gombe, the Director General of the group, Hon. Aliyu Muhammad Inuwa, revealed that the organization boasts a meticulously built structure spanning from the ward level up to the state hierarchy.
Explaining the motivation behind the movement, Hon. Aliyu stated that the group threw its weight behind Dr. Gwamna due to his pro-people policies and genuine compassion for improving the welfare of the common man.
Describing the candidate as righteous, trustworthy, and reliable, Hon. Aliyu assured that Dr. Gwamna would never let the people of Gombe down if entrusted with leadership.
He further highlighted the candidate’s long-standing track record of empowering the less privileged through educational scholarships, medical support and treatment, and the provision of employment opportunities, among other philanthropic ventures.
Representing the APC candidate, a former member of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Hon. Usman Ahmad Haruna, commended the Sardauna Support Group for the laudable initiative, urging members to maintain unity, cooperation, and harmony as they push forward.
Echoing similar sentiments, retired Rear Admiral Orji Filafa and the group’s legal advisor, Barrister Umar Sajo, praised the youth for rallying behind the candidate and encouraged them to approach politics with decorum and sportsmanship.
Party elders present at the event lauded the grassroot mobilization effort as a definitive step toward making Gombe more peaceful and prosperous, while charging the newly inaugurated coordinators to work diligently to ensure the sweeping success of all APC candidates at every level.
Adding her voice to the occasion, the state women leader to Dr. Zainab Jamil Gwamna, Hajiya Zainab Kaltungo, commended the group for uniting the youth behind Dr. Gwamna and assured them that their labor of love would not be in vain.
She also urged the youth to acquire their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing the document as the ultimate tool for electing credible leaders of their choice.
In his welcome address, the State Youth Leader of the group, Hon. Nafi’u Usman Bello (Scorpion), popularly known as Scorpion, extolled the leadership qualities of Dr. Gwamna, labeling him as the only candidate capable of sustaining and building upon the legacies of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya. “As youth who have the state at heart, we realize that only Dr. Jamil Gwamna possesses a great vision for the youth of Gombe,” he noted, pledging aggressive grassroots mobilization across the entire state.
Appointment letters were later presented to the coordinators across the state at the well-attended ceremony.
