A former Director-General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Dr. Balarabe Shehu Ilelah, has formally declared his intention to contest the Bauchi South Senatorial seat in the 2027 General Elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He made the declaration at a well-attended political gathering that took place at Destination Hotel Bauchi, where supporters and party loyalists converged to witness the unveiling of his senatorial ambition.
Ilelah reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC, vowing not only to pursue his senatorial ambition but also to support the emergence and eventual victory of the party’s governorship candidate in Bauchi State.
He stressed that unity within the party remains vital, noting that collective commitment would strengthen the APC’s chances of success in the forthcoming elections.
The former NBC boss emphasised the need for purposeful and people-oriented leadership, stating that his experience in public service positions him to deliver effective representation at the National Assembly.
He assured constituents of inclusive governance, promising to prioritise youth empowerment, infrastructure development, and expanded economic opportunities across the Bauchi South Senatorial District.
