In a decisive move toward the 2027 general elections, the Gombe State All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Jamilu Isiyaka Gwamna, has formally accepted his transition to the party’s primary choice with an urgent call for total state-wide reconciliation.

Addressing a press conference following his emergence, Dr. Gwamna began by offering gratitude to Almighty Allah and extending deep appreciation to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya and the various APC stakeholders whose commitment paved the way for his selection.

Gwamna stated that “I want to extend my profound appreciation to Governor Yahaya and the dedicated party leaders. Their trust is a debt I intend to repay through selfless service and unwavering loyalty to our shared vision.”

The aspirant was high in his praise for the incumbent administration, noting that Governor Yahaya’s tenure has been defined by transformative legacy projects that have reshaped the state’s infrastructure.

Dr. Gwamna assured the party and the public that his primary mission would be to consolidate these successes, ensuring that the progress made under the current leadership is both sustained and expanded.

Gwamna informed the press; “My primary mission is simple: to consolidate these successes. The progress made under Governor Yahaya must not only be sustained, it must be expanded. However, I am under no illusions; while I am honored by this nomination, my true dream for a greater Gombe only becomes a reality once the people officially give me their mandate at the polls.”

In a bid to foster a cohesive political environment, Dr. Gwamna extended a sincere hand of friendship to his fellow contenders who lost the bid, as well as members of the opposition.

He urged all Gombe citizens to prioritize unity and development over political friction, reminding his audience that power is ultimate and is given by God to whom He wishes and at the time He deems fit.

He remarked that “To my fellow contenders and even those in the opposition, I extend a sincere hand of friendship. We must prioritize the development of Gombe over political friction. I am calling on everyone to join me in this journey. The task ahead is the service of Gombe, and we can only achieve our potential if we move forward as one.”

While stressing his firm pledge of loyalty and performance, Dr. Gwamna vowed to uphold the trust placed in him by the party leadership and the electorate.

He vowed that he would not fail the people of Gombe, nor would he let down Governor Yahaya and the APC.

Expressing unwavering confidence in the party’s future, he predicted a clean sweep for the APC at all levels of government in the coming polls, insisting that “the party’s track record remains its strongest asset” heading into the election cycle.
