Northeast Education Secretaries Converge In Bauchi For UBEC/TPD Program Implement

The Education Secretaries from six northeastern states of Nigeria have converged in Bauchi for a three day sensitization training on the implementation of Teacher Professional Development Project (UBEC/TPD), aimed at improving the scope of teaching and learning process.

 

While declaring the training open at the Conference Hall of the Chart Well Hotel, Bauchi,The Executive Secretary of Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Dr. Hamid Bobboyi stated that the target of the training is to ensure all primary schools in the northeast states are being run efficiently, through the implementation of Teachers Professional Development Program.

He observed that the UBEC/TPD Project will boost the abilities of education managers by providing professional leadership to headteachers and teachers in their various schools.

 

Dr. Hamid Bobboyi added that UBEC will continue to support Education Secretaries in order to improve quality of service delivery in the basic education sector, adding that the implementation of Teacher Professional Development Project will equally enhance transparency and accountability in managing funds released to boost the basic education.

The UBEC Boss, charged participants to pay attention to all the presentations during the 3 day training and to step it down in their respective jurisdictions so as to achieve the desired goal.

 

In his remarks, The Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Bauchi State Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri commended the initiative which he said will go a long way in ensuring accountability and transparency in funds management. He appreciated the UBEC Boss for choosing Bauchi State to host the training promising that the impact of the training will be reflected in all the 20 Local Education Authorities of Bauchi State.

In her address, the representative of Director Teachers Development Department of UBEC, Hajiya Amina Alƙali, explained that the training was organized under her directorate with a view to checkmate the implementation of UBEC/TPD project in basic schools across Nigeria.

 

She observed that most of the basic schools students don’t have access to acquire quality education, hence the need for education secretaries to do everything possible in that direction.
