Alh. Bappayo Samanja Maudo, Executive Chairman of the Gombe State Urban Planning and Development Authority (GOSUPDA), has been decorated as a Youth Ambassador by the Northern Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in recognition of his support for youth development.

Maudo expressed his gratitude to NYCN for finding him worthy of the award and dedicated it Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, citing his youth-friendly policies as a source of inspiration.

“I am inspired by Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s youth-friendly policies to support youths,” Maudo said. “We emulate his policies to also give the little contribution we can, because we quite believe that the future belongs to youth, and having a decent youth today guarantees peace, prosperity, and development tomorrow.”

Speaking, the National Secretary of NYCN, Ambassador Muazzam Mairiga, in company of other top officials from the national office, praised Maudo’s contributions to youth development through scholarships, skills acquisition programs, and other initiatives that empower young people to become self-reliant and active members of society.

“We have been closely observing and studying your contributions in supporting youths through scholarships, skills acquisition, and other programs,” he stated. “We never met you in person before, but your good works towards promoting the plight of youths speak for you. It is said that a golden fish has no place to hide.”

Muazzam also commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his inclusivity of young people in governance, describing him as a “youth-friendly governor.”

He further praised the governor’s decision to appoint Maudo to lead GOSUPDA, calling it a well-deserved appointment.

The National Secretary stated that the organisation presented the award as appreciation, encouraging Maudo to continue mentoring and supporting the cause of young people.
