The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, has matriculated five thousand, one hundred and ninety-six (5,196) students out of six thousand, two hundred and sixty-six admitted for the 2025/2026 academic session.
This was disclosed by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Alhaji Sani Usman, during the matriculation ceremony held at the campus stadium.
According to him, matriculation is a cardinal requirement for qualifying any admitted student as a bona fide member of a tertiary institution.
He noted that the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, remains committed not only to providing students with access to quality education but also to molding their character to become responsible citizens of their respective communities.
He stated that the Polytechnic received a total of seven thousand, two hundred and forty-eight applications for various National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The Rector explained that the institution admitted 6,266 students out of the 7,248 applications received, and 5,196 students have been registered into the Polytechnic for the session.
He charged the newly admitted students to strictly adhere to institutional rules, emphasizing discipline as a foundation for academic success.
Alhaji Sani Usman warned that the management would not tolerate indiscipline, examination malpractice, sexual harassment, cultism, and other social vices.
In his address earlier, the Registrar of the Polytechnic, Alhaji Kasimu Salihu, reiterated the institution’s zero tolerance for all forms of misconduct, such as cultism, examination malpractice, sexual harassment, drug abuse, indecent dressing, vandalism, and truancy.
He praised the management and staff for maintaining academic standards and urged the newly admitted students to join only clubs that are legal and registered by the Students’ Affairs Division of the Polytechnic, as well as to be good ambassadors of their respective communities.
