Gombe: ADC Reps Aspirants Forum Chair, Danjuma, Dumps Party for APC
The political landscape of Gombe State has witnessed a significant defection following the resignation of QS. Muhammad Danjuma (popularly known as Garkuwa Babba), the National Chairman of the Reps Aspirants Forum for Herwagana Ward, from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In an official resignation letter dated August 7, 2026, and addressed to the ADC Ward Chairman of Herwagana Ward in Gombe Local Government Area, Danjuma announced his immediate exit from the party alongside his decision to pitch his tent with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to the letter, the move was the result of extensive internal reflection and strategic alignment.
Danjuma said “This decision has been made after due diligence, wider consultation and careful consideration of my personal convictions and future political aspirations. I sincerely appreciate the opportunities and experiences I gained during my time as a member of the party.”
He expressed appreciation to the local leadership and party members in Herwagana Ward and Gombe State at large for the cooperation extended to him during his tenure as a loyal member.
Danjuma formally declared his next political destination, noting that “I have decided to join All Progressives Congress APC, with immediate effect.”
Political analysts in the region view the exit of a high profile grassroots stakeholder and forum leader as a notable development for APC within Gombe Local Government ahead of future electoral alignments.
