Over 8 thousand people will benefit from food palliative distribution provided by Gombe State Government in Nafaɗa Local Government Area.
This was disclosed by the State’s Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Salihu Baba Alkali during the flagging off ceremony for the distribution in the area.
The commissioner who is the chairman local government distribution committee said the gesture was in continuation of the state government’s efforts in providing succor to the people of the state in view of the economic hardship in the country.
He stated that the state government will leave no stone unturned in its efforts to better the living condition of its people.
Salihu Baba Alkali called on members of the committee charged with the responsibility of distributing the Palliative down to the wards level to carry out the exercise judiciously in their respective areas.
To the beneficiaries, the commissioner urged them to extend the gesture to friends and relatives.
He further appreciated the state governor for paying all pensioners in Nafada Local Government their gratuities up to date.
In a remark, the overseeing chairman of Nafaɗa Local Government Muhammad Kabir Baffa, appreciated the state government for the gesture, maintaining that it will go a long way in cushioning the difficulty being faced by the people.
Also speaking, the Secretary Nafaɗa Emirate Council, Hamza Umar, expressed the emirate’s appreciation, saying it will continue to support all efforts geared to making the lives of his people better.
In their separate remarks, Member Representing Nafada North Constituency, Honourable Tahir Mohammed, APC chairman, Nafaɗa Local Government, Abdullahi Adamu Masad and the APC chairmanship candidate for the upcoming local government elections, Babangida Adamu Jigawa, all appreciated the state government for the kind gesture.
17 thousand bags of food items, which include rice, sugar, spaghetti, and maize, will be distributed to the beneficiaries.
