Gombe Police Resumes 7PM – 6AM Motorcycle Restrictions Over Security Concerns

The Gombe State Police Command has reactivated its earlier relaxed motorcycle restrictions from 7PM – 6AM daily.

 

This was according to a press statement signed and made available to Jewel Times by the command’s Public Relations Officer DSP Buhari Abdullahi, titled “Update On The Continuation Of Motorcycle on the Continuation of Motorcycle Restrictions In Gombe Metropolis (Effective From Friday, 03/04/2026 Between 7:00 pm and 6:00 AM daily”.

 

The statement further said “The Gombe State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that, following an intensive security meeting with relevant security agencies and critical stakeholders, a comprehensive review of the current security situation was conducted.

 

After thorough deliberations and careful assessment of prevailing security concerns, it was unanimously resolved to maintain the existing restrictions on the use motorcycles from 7:00PM to 6:00AM Daily in Gombe metropolis. Enforcement will resume tomorrow, Friday, 03/04/2026.

 

These measures are aimed at preventing the use of motorcycles for criminal activities across the state”.

 

The command appreciated the cooperation and understanding of the citizens and urges all residents to comply with the directive for the sake of public safety and security.

 

Residents are further encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station.

 

“The Gombe State Police Command, is committed to safeguarding lives and property throughout the state”, the statement added.
