Gombe MSSN Encouraged On Dynamic Leadership

The leadership of Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN) has been charged to be dynamic in handling issues of students in Gombe State.

Dr Abdulƙadir Saleh of the Political Science Department, Gombe State University gave the charge when he served as chairman of the occasion, at the inauguration of MSSN newly elected Executive Council Gombe Area Unit.

Dr Saleh encouraged the new leadership to be proactive in policy formulations to remain relevant in the modern day societies.

The chairman admonished the new exco not to belittle their efforts, describing MSSN as major driver in shaping the behavior and conducts of Muslim students especially in tertiary institutions.

In a paper presentation titled “Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders” the Amir Muslim Ummah Gombe who served as guest speaker Dr Usman Aliyu Abdullahi, said leaders are broadly categorized into spiritual and man made, describing MSSN as perfect leadership training ground for prospective leaders.

He said to nurture good and avoid accidental leaders, youths must participate in the leadership process.

In his address of welcome, the Chairman Shura Committee Gombe Area Unit, Malam Ishaq Muhammad Ishiyaku, appreciated the commitment of the outgoing exco, calling for synergy with the new leadership to serve the students better.

In their goodwill messages, some invited guests to include Chairman Zakah and Waqaf Foundation Dr. Abdullahi Abubakar Lamido, the Coordinator Arabic and Islamic Studies State Ministry of Education Malam Nasiru Ibrahim, and the Director State Library Board Malam Idris Hamma Adam charged the new leadership on diligence, commitments and hardwork.

The Amir MSSN Gombe Area Unit Bilyaminu Abdullahi whose term was renewed for another three years, recapped the major successes of the MSSN under his first term stewardship, assuring to give his best in the second tenure.

He appealed for unity and support from students and the council members to forge the society forward.

Meanwhile the MSSN has honoured one of its members in person of Hajara Ibrahim Ɗanazumi, a Gombe State University level 200 Botany student who recently won international women Quranic recitation competition in Jordan.
