The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi is set to conduct its combined convocation ceremony on February 22nd 2024 for over nineteen thousand graduates.
The Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Muhammad Ahmad Abdul’aziz made the statement while briefing Journalists on the pre convocation activities which took place at the Senate Chamber, ATBU Permanent Site Gubi.
He said the numbers of degrees classes obtained by the combined graduands are 337 first class, 5,489 second class upper, 7241 second class lower, 1867 third class as well as 526 with pass degree.
First set of the 25 pioneer health students are also among the graduands.
He added that the combined convocation ceremony will begin on February, 22nd to February 24th 2024, with the commissioning of nineteen projects completed in the last four years spread in both Yelwa and Gubi campuses.
He examined that on Friday there will be a convocation lecture which will be delivered by Professor of Media Studies, Umar Pate who is the Vice Chancellor Federal University of Kashare, Gombe State with the topic, “Education and Nigeria’s National Integration in the Digital Age: Matters Arising”
To this end, Professor Muhammad Ahmad Abdul’aziz called on the public and stakeholders in the education sector to support the combined convocation ceremony with a view to achieving the desired goals.
The vice chancellor also acknowledged the contribution of media organizations towards improving the education system in Nigeria.
He appealed for support from journalists in covering the activities of the university for the benefit of humanity.
