The Commissioner ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Dr Barnabas Malle has attributed influxes of donor agencies and development partners to the Gombe State to Governor Inuwa’s determination of providing enabling environment to all.
Speaking to journalist in his office, Dr Barnabas Malle said the Governor is doing all takes to ensure people of the state benefit from various interventions and collaborative projects by paying counterpart funding and ensuring security of lives and properties across the nooks and crannies of the state.
The Commissioner said Inuwa-led administration will do everything possible to ensure farmers get all the necessary input to ensure food security, advising that farmers should embarked on early preparation of farming in response to Moment seasonal climate Forecast for this year.
Dr Barnabas Malle further said the state Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya will ensure provision of fertilizer at affordable prices which inline with the Federal Government’s resolution to foster food security in the country.
Responding to question posed on the activities of the Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRESS), the Commissioner reiterated his ministry commitment to continued collaborating with the project in boosting livestock production and all agricultural activities along its value chain.
He said “the project has embarked on abattoir and livestock markets renovations apart from training the herders modern ways of animal husbandry among others.
“Preparations from the Federal Government are on top gear to empower irrigation farmers, ranchers as well as rainy season farmers, while the state government has embarked on assessment tour to identify real farmers to benefit from the programme”, he added.
The Commissioner expressed dismay on how some unpatriotic citizens who have the habit of suffocating the laudable government policies and programmes, warning that government will not hesitate to deal with anybody found wanting. He therefore warn them to resist from the habit or face the full wrath of the law.
