Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved 500,000 Naira subsidy for each of the 1273 State’s intending Muslim Pilgrims for the upcoming Hajj exercise.

This was according to a press statement signed and made available to Jewel Times by the Director General Press Affairs Government House Gombe Ismaila Uba Misilli on Friday.

The statement said the decision comes in response to the recent announcement by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) regarding adjustments to the 2024 Hajj fare.

The approval is to mitigate the financial strain on the Gombe State pilgrims in the face of current economic challenges.

Governor Inuwa Yahaya hopes that this intervention will contribute to a seamless and spiritually enriching Hajj exercise for all pilgrims from Gombe State as well as facilitate a conducive environment for religious activities despite prevailing economic challenges.
