Gombe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (GODMA) in collaboration with the State’s Ministry of Health, has organized a two day workshop for State Sustainable Supply Commodity System Committee, to ensure seemless and sustainable supply of qualitative drugs and medical consumables across the state’s primary healthcare facilities.
Speaking while declaring the workshop open at Eaman Gombe, the State’s Commissioner for Health Dr Habu Ɗahiru said the training forms part of the state government’s commitments to ensuring universal health coverage, where effective healthcare service delivery would be affordable to all.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Pharmacist Muhammad Ibrahim Jalo, Dr Ɗahiru said the training will equip participants with the technical know-how, and how best to ensure uninterrupted supply of drugs and medical consumables for Gombe State.
He encouraged the participants to actively participate in the training for maximum outcome.
In his address of welcome, the Executive Secretary Gombe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (GODMA) Pharmacist Caleb Faransa, said the training is meant boost the capacity of the committee members to carry out their duties effectively.
He said seasoned consultants were invited to take the participants through technical sessions to empower and boost their capacity on modern strategies of drugs and medical consumables supply system.
Faransa assured that with GODMA, out of stock syndrome that hitherto crippled health facilities in the state, is now history.
In their goodwill messages, representatives from sister agencies, ministry of health officials and development partners commended GODMA for the initiative, expressing optimism that with the strategies put in place by the agency, Gombe State healthcare facilities will now be better equipped with necessary drugs and medical consumables.
Technical sessions started shortly after the training was declared open.
