Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a young philanthropist and political supporter, Bayo Mark Tanglang, has distributed foodstuff and seasoning cubes to more than 100 less-privileged women and elderly people in Tanglang Ward of Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State.
The gesture, which was aimed at easing the impact of the prevailing economic hardship on vulnerable members of the community, was also described by the organiser as a show of support for the political aspirations of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Balanga-Billiri Federal Constituency, Barrister Rambi Ibrahim Ayala, as well as other political figures he supports.
Speaking during the distribution, Bayo said the initiative was inspired by his commitment to Ayala, whom he credited with numerous development projects and community-oriented initiatives across the constituency.
He said the gesture was also intended to complement the political efforts of Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami and Senator Anthony Siyako Yaro, whom he described as leaders committed to serving the people at the grassroots.
“This little gesture is purposely to remember my people, especially those in dire need, courtesy of my boss, Barrister Rambi Ayala, for his love, care and concern for me and our people,” Bayo said.
He added, “This is equally to support our gubernatorial candidate, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, and the Gombe South senatorial candidate, Senator Anthony Siyako Yaro.”
Bayo, who pledged to sustain the initiative, urged the people of Tanglang and the wider Tangale-Waja communities to support political leaders who understand their challenges and have the capacity to address their needs.
He challenged the current representation as inactive and ignorant of the plights, needs and concerns of Tangale-Waja, assuring that when the son of the soil is sent, it’s then that Balanga-Ɓilliri constituents shall know the core dividends of good representation.
The young philanthropist criticised what he described as ineffective representation, saying the people would better appreciate the dividends of democracy when they elect leaders like Rambi, Siyako and Pantami who understand their concerns and remain connected to their communities.
Bayo further expressed confidence that Senator Yaro’s return to the Senate would create more opportunities and deliver greater democratic dividends to the people of Gombe South.
He also urged eligible voters in Tanglang, Billiri and across Gombe South to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that voting remained the legitimate means of choosing leaders capable of providing purposeful representation.
Earlier at his palace during a courtesy visit by the young philantropist, the District Head of Tanglang Malam Audu Tahir JP, appreciated Bayo Mark for the initiative, calling on other sons and daughters of Tanglang to borrow leaf from Bayo.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Sadiq Dahiru Kaltungo and Hon. Sadiq Nyuwar Zakka commended Bayo Mark for the initiative, describing it as a reflection of the humanitarian gestures associated with Barrister Rambi Ayala and Senator Yaro.
They urged the beneficiaries to remember Bayo, Ayala, Yaro and Pantami in their prayers and support their political aspirations as the 2027 elections draw closer.
On their part, Mrs. Halima Luka and Ajus Kwambo, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed appreciation to Bayo for the gesture and prayed to God to reward him and guide his affairs.
They said the support had brought smiles to their faces and left a lasting impression on them, assuring Bayo and the political figures he supports of their continued prayers and support.
