A frontline aspirant for the Gombe Central Senatorial seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), DCP Muhammad Ahmadu, has donated N250,000 to support the 2026 Annual Convention of the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN), Gombe State Chapter.
The donation was announced during the convention held at the CAN Centre in Gombe, where Christian women from various denominations across the state gathered for spiritual renewal, fellowship, and discussions on issues affecting their communities.
Representing the APC senatorial aspirant at the event, Ambassador Benjamin Abner Mamman, JP, presented the donation on behalf of DCP Muhammad Ahmadu and conveyed his goodwill message to participants.
Speaking at the gathering, Ambassador Mamman commended WOWICAN for its contributions toward promoting peace, unity, and moral values in society. He noted that faith-based organizations play a vital role in fostering harmony and strengthening social cohesion among diverse communities.
According to him, the donation reflects DCP Muhammad Ahmadu’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote religious tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and community development across Gombe State.
He also urged members of the organization to continue offering prayers for the peace, stability, and progress of Gombe State and the nation at large.
The convention, themed “Your People Will Be My People and Your God My God,” drawn from Ruth 1:16, brought together women leaders and members of the Christian community for a three-day programme featuring worship sessions, teachings, prayers, and discussions on issues of faith and societal development.
Responding to the gesture, the leadership of WOWICAN expressed appreciation to DCP Muhammad Ahmadu for the support, describing the donation as a demonstration of solidarity with the Christian community and encouragement for the organization to continue its activities.
The annual convention serves as a platform for Christian women in Gombe State to strengthen their faith, promote unity, and contribute to community development through collective action and advocacy.
