The Sardauna of Gombe, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for approving the full implementation of the new national minimum wage for local government staff, Local Education Authority personnel, and primary healthcare workers in the state.

Dr. Gwamna gave the commendation while reacting to Yahaya’s directive ordering the full implementation of the new minimum wage.

According to Sardaunan Gombe the gesture would boost morale and enhance productivity among the workers.

He added that “The move showed the humane leadership style of Gov Yahaya-led administration towards improving the wellbeing and welfare of workers across our dear state”.

Dr. Gwamna further said that in view of the enabling environment created for workers in the state by Governor Inuwa, in 2023 a coalition of various senior staff unions conferred on him, the outstanding pro-labour award in recognition of his exceptional leadership and commitment to promoting a decent work agenda.

“This is a reminder of Governor Inuwa’s compassion for workers and for that, I want to commend our workers’-friendly governor” Sardauna added.
