The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State has dismissed rumors of internal division, declaring that the party remains a united and indivisible entity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking to journalist during a press briefing at the party’s headquarters, the State Chairman, Major General Amnon Kalaye Kwaskebe (Rtd), clarified that “There are no factions within our ranks, all leadership structures remain fully intact”.
The chairman represented by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Abdulƙadir Ahmad Dukku, said the declaration followed a strategic stakeholders’ meeting presided over by the State Party Leader and former Governor, Senator Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo.
During the session, members were extensively briefed on the resolutions and participation of the state chapter in the recently concluded National Convention.
Following the briefing, stakeholders unanimously moved and supported a motion to endorse the actions taken at the convention, formally aligning Gombe PDP with the national body’s decisions.
Hon. Ahmad emphasized that the party is operating as “one family,” dispelling any notions of a leadership crisis. He noted that the party executive and various segments of leadership at all levels remain loyal to the leadership of Senator Dankwambo.
According to the party, “The current state of the PDP in Gombe is strong and capable of mounting a formidable challenge in the 2027 general elections”
Consequently, the leadership urged all members, supporters, and well-wishers to stand firm and encouraged those harboring political ambitions to continue their preparations under the party’s platform.
The party called on its members to stay calm and continue their political activities with confidence, asserting that the PDP remains the primary vehicle for their aspirations in Gombe State.
