Vulnerable residents in Gombe Local Government Area have received support materials following a humanitarian outreach organized under the initiative of the Executive Director (Operations) of the Northeast Development Commission (NEDC), Alhaji Abdussalam Yahya Ahmed.
The distribution exercise took place at the Resource Centre in Gombe, where beneficiaries including persons living with disabilities, orphans and other disadvantaged members of the community were presented with food items, clothing and other essential supplies.

The program in Gombe LGA was coordinated by Alhaji Auwal Umar, who explained that the intervention was aimed at reaching those most affected by economic hardship and providing them with immediate relief.
Speaking during the exercise, Umar said the initiative reflects the commitment of Alh. Abdussalam to improving the welfare of vulnerable people within communities.
“This program is part of the humanitarian support being extended to vulnerable individuals. We sincerely appreciate the Executive Director Operations of NEDC, Alhaji Abdussalam, for making this initiative possible and for showing concern for the wellbeing of our people,” he said.
He noted that the distribution was carried out in an organized manner to ensure fairness and transparency so that the items reached deserving beneficiaries.
Also speaking, the supervisor of the program Alh. Ahmad Idaya commended the gesture and described it as a meaningful intervention that would positively impact many families.

“We are grateful to Alhaji Abdussalam for this generous effort. Programs like this help reduce the burden on vulnerable households and bring hope to many people,” the supervisor said.
The event attracted the presence of traditional title holders, religious leaders from both Islamic and Christian communities, as well as representatives of security agencies who were on ground to witness the exercise and support the smooth conduct of the distribution.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke during the program expressed appreciation to the sponsor for the timely support, noting that the items would help ease their daily challenges.
“This assistance will help our families greatly. We thank Alhaji Abdussalam for remembering people like us and supporting those in need,” one of the beneficiaries said.

Participants at the event also offered prayers for the sponsor, asking God to reward and strengthen him to continue supporting vulnerable communities.
The outreach in Gombe Local Government Area is part of a broader effort championed by Alhaji Abdussalam through the Northeast Development Commission to extend humanitarian assistance and improve the wellbeing of disadvantaged groups across the Northeast.
