The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) has held a sub-national stakeholders’ engagement session and a statewide Town Hall Meeting in Gombe, aimed at assessing the state’s performance on business-enabling reforms and fostering alignment with national economic initiatives.
The engagement brought together critical stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, with the objective of deepening the implementation of the State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) and promoting inclusive growth through an improved regulatory environment at the sub-national level.

Who described the session as both timely and strategic, noting that Gombe’s recognition as the top-ranking state in Nigeria for Ease of Doing Business is as the result of intentional policies, strong political will, and robust administrative reforms.
Governor Yahaya’s message also highlighted major infrastructure projects including the Special Agro-Processing and Export Free Zone the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, and the Ultra-Modern Livestock Development Zone as key milestones in the state’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investment and economic diversification.

In her remarks, the Director General of PEBEC, Princess Zahra Mustapha Audu, commended Gombe State for its exceptional performance in business reforms, describing the state as a model in the drive to enhance Nigeria’s economic competitiveness.
Also speaking at the event, the State Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Tourism, Nasiru Mohammed Aliyu, applauded PEBEC for its strategic role in improving business environments across the country. He reaffirmed Gombe State’s commitment to aligning with the national agenda for a business-friendly environment that promotes innovation, productivity, and inclusive economic growth.

Q and A session was successful as a lot of issues were resolved between private business class, Gombe State Government representatives and PEBEC officials in the event.
