Gombe SEC Ratifies Gombe State Nutritional Policy, Approves Additional 478.7 Million For Kuri-Talasse Road

Gombe State Government has approved the sum of 478.7 million for the ongoing road construction from Kuri, Lambam, Dasa to connect to Talasse.

The Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Works and Transport Gombe State, Usman Maijama’a Kallamu disclosed this during the press brief shortly after the 36th State Executive Council, SEC presided by Governor Inuwa Yahaya.

The Commissioner revealed that the upward review of the road construction becomes necessary in view of filter underwater discovered along the road spanning about 17 kilometers.

He said considering the importance of the road to the socioeconomic development of the region, the government deemed it necessary to approve additional sum to the earlier approved contract to facilitate its construction while maintaining quality.

The SEC also ratified and assented a five-year Gombe State Nutritional Policy (2024 -2027) which intends to reduce malnutrition especially among children, reduce hunger and alleviate poverty in Gombe State.

The council approved the sum of 2 Billion Naira for the proper implementation of the policy in collaboration with Ministry of Health, Education and Agriculture & Animal Husbandry while Ministry of Budget, Planning and Development will coordinate the activities and spearhead the implementation process.
