The Executive Chairman of the Gombe State Internal Revenue Service (GIRS), Aisha Adamu FCNA (Sarauniyan Taskar Akko) paid a courtesy visit to the Hon. Commissioner of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Hon. Dr. Barnabas M. Malle, to strengthen collaboration aimed at boosting revenue generation.

According to the press statement by the Information Officer of the service, Hassan Mahdi Zambuk and made available to Jewel Times, the Chairman emphasized the importance of working together with the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure significant revenue growth from the ministry.

She also announced plans for GIRS to organize training for revenue officers from both the state and local governments to streamline and harmonize the revenue collection processes given that there are some discrepancies in the collections from the ministry which the GIRS is the one saddled with the responsibility of revenue collections and ensuring compliance from all sectors.

The Executive Chairman, stressed further the need to optimize the collection processes all with the effort to ensure things are done in accordance.

Hon. Barnabas welcomed the visit and raised concerns about some grey areas regarding revenue collected from the Ministry of Agriculture.

He assured his full support for GIRS, ensuring that all collections by his revenue officers would be properly remitted.

He also highlighted the need for the training, noting that it was something the ministry had needed even earlier.
