From Yunusa Isa, Gombe

 

The Commander Federal Road Safety Corps, Gombe State Command Samson Ƙaura, has decorated 10 officers following their harmonization/conversion from marshal to officer cadre.

 

Speaking during the decoration ceremony organized at the command’s headquarters Lafiyawo, the commander said the conversion followed the officers successful furtherance of education, making them earn higher certificates from various institutions of learning.

While encouraging other men and officers of the corps to equally take advantage of furthering their knowledge to fly ahead in the road service, commander Ƙaura charged the newly decorated officers to rededicate themselves to duty by ensuring more lives and properties of road users are protected.

 

“To whom much is given much is expected. Your decoration to these ranks calls for more dedication to duty. You are therefore expected to redouble efforts to serving the nation and humanity”, the corps commander added.

He said “The officers affected include 1 Superintendent Route Commander, 1 Route Commander, 4 Deputy Route Commanders and 3 Assistant Route Commanders.

 

While congratulating the new officers, Ƙaura charged them to brace up for fresh responsibilities that come along with the new development.

He said the corps has introduced new measures in this year’s ember months campaign to further reduce road crashes through passenger awareness campaigns and stakeholders engagements.

 

While appreciating the commitments of various stakeholders in road crashes reduction, Corps Commander Ƙaura assured of the corps men and officers’ commitments to ensuring free accidents ember months, Christmas and new year celebrations.

Speaking on behalf of the newly converted officers, Altine Ahmed appreciated the Federal Road Safety Corps Marshall Shehu Muhammad for approving their conversion, while commending the State Corps Commander Samson Ƙaura for the support and guidance he accorded them throughout the process.

 

She appealed for more supports and guidance from the senior officers, to enable them discharge their new responsibilities successfully.

While assuring of commitments in discharging their new assignments diligently, Altine charged the new officers on accountability, sacrifice and commitment to service in ensuring motorists and other road users’ lives and properties are protected.

 

The event was witnessed by family members, friends relatives and well wishers who couldn’t hide the joy they share with the celebrants.
