The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Gombe State Command has paraded 14 suspects over allegations bothering on phone snatching, prostitution and indecency.

Parading the suspects, the NSCDC State Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu through the command’s Public Relations Officer SC Buhari Sa’ad, said the suspects were arrested at various lodges and hotels midnight in Gombe Metropolis.

He said following the prohibition of Gala Houses and night clubs in the state, the suspects switched to other alternatives, perpetrating their heinous activities in ghetto guest houses.

The PRO said “Two of the suspects were arrested for phone snatching, four at Inspector Hassan House BCGA at about 1:08am, while the other eight men and women were arrested at Travelers Lodge Gombe at about 1:57am who have allegedly engaged in indecent and immoral activities”.

While reiterating the command’s commitments to curb indecency, crimes and criminalities in the state, Buhari appealed for support from members of the public to make Gombe a crime free state.

He added that upon completion of investigation, the suspects will be charged to court to face the law.

Some of the suspects who attributed their engagement in the crimes to whim desires and devilish delusions, assured to refrain from such indecency and become good members of the society.
