The Nigeria Police Force Gombe State Command has arrested 23 suspects over various offenses ranging from criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, possession of stolen property, theft, rape, impersonation, culpable homicide, possession of indian hemp and hard drugs.
Parading the suspects on behalf of the State’s Commissioner of Police CP Hayatu Usman, the Force’s Public Relations Officer ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar, said the suspects were arrested on various occasions during routine and special crackdowns embarked upon by operatives of the commamd.
The police image maker said the 23 suspects were arrested over nine cases, from which exhibits recovered include: three Bajaj Motorcycles, a heavy truck (trailer), 88 wraps of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 110 tablets suspected hard drugs, mobile phones, TV sets, axe, impersonated police ID card, army beret amongst others.
Mahid Muazu said the command is ever ready, to clamp down on criminals across nooks and crannies of the state.
He appealed to citizens in the state to support security agencies with vital information to nib crimes in the bud.
He added that upon completion of investigation, the suspects will be charged to court to face the law.
