The Gombe Concrete Casting Union has extended humanitarian support to more than 3,000 orphans and vulnerable members across Gombe State in a move aimed at strengthening social welfare within the association.

The gesture was unveiled during a colorful ceremony held in Gombe on Saturday, where the State Chairman of the union, Dahiru Abdullahi, presented 200 wrappers and bundles of clothing materials to orphans.

Speaking at the event, Abdullahi said the initiative was part of the union’s broader commitment to supporting families of deceased members and cushioning the impact of economic hardship on vulnerable households.

In addition to the clothing materials, the union distributed 500 small bags of food items—including millet, maize, and rice—to families of deceased members. Beneficiaries expressed appreciation, describing the intervention as timely and impactful amid rising cost of living.

The chairman further disclosed that the union had procured two concrete-mixing machines as part of efforts to generate sustainable income for the association. According to him, proceeds from the machines will be channeled toward welfare programs and other developmental initiatives.

Abdullahi also announced the purchase of two motorcycles, which will be used to monitor and assess the living conditions of bereaved families within the union.

He emphasized that the leadership remains committed to ensuring that no member’s family is neglected, adding that unity and mutual support remain the core values of the association.

The event attracted union members, community leaders, and beneficiaries, many of whom commended the initiative and called for its sustenance in the years ahead.
